Analysis of the Koran

The Koran claims to be the Word of God as given by the Angel Gabriel to Mohammad.  The Koran claims that this revelation is a more perfect revelation than the Bible, and that the Bible is flawed and that the beliefs of Jews and Christians are anathema to its own.

The Koran has its roots in the Old Testament going back as far as Ishmael and Isaac, and to this day, a great deal of the tumult in the world, both spiritually and physically takes place between the descendants of Ishmael (Arabs) and Isaac (Jews). The followers of the Koran claim that Mohammad was a descendent of Ishmael and therefore that Mohammad, as a descendant of Abraham, was a prophet prophesied in Scripture, (although no mention of Mohammad can be found either in the Old or New Testaments.)

The claims of the Koran are similar in many ways to the claims of the book of Mormon in the United States of America: that there is something fundamentally wrong with the teachings of the Bible and that a further revelation is needed.  This is the same sort of claim that throughout history has been made by schismatic spirits.  Such claims are as old as the Book of Genesis when Eve was convinced by Satan that the simple commandment of God, not to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil was not enough, that there was more to God's Word, and thus she fell from grace, by accepting Satan's promise that God really would want her to "know good and evil," by eating from the Tree.

One of the things that strikes me first about the Koran, is that even though in the Koran, Allah always claims to be: the "Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful," Allah's punishments for those who disobey are extremely brutal and ugly.  For example, for someone who steals the punishment is:  "Cut off (from the wrist joint) the right hand of the thief, male or female, as a recompense for that which they committed, a punishment by way of example from Allah.  And Allah is AllPowerful, AllWise."  By almost anyone standards, this is a barbaric punishment.

In the case of Adultery: Surat 4:15:  And those of your women who commit illegal sexual intercourse, take the evidence of four witnesses from amongst you against them, and if they testify, condemn them to houses until death come to them....  Once again, this an incredibly harsh punishment, and the Koran does not speak anything about what should happen to the man in this case.  This is typical of a totally male oriented and dominated society, with very little regard for women.

Surat 4:47:  O you who have been given the Scripture (Jews and Christians)  Believe in what We have revealed to Muhammad confirming what is already with you, before We efface faces by making them like the back of necks; without nose, mouth, eyes etc. and turn them hind wards, or curse them as We cursed the Sabbath-breakers.  And the Commandment of Allah is always executed.

Once again, here Allah seems to be very intolerant, and not not at all the "Beneficent, the Most Merciful."  If you don't agree with him then basically, Allah will efface your your face and make it like the back of a neck, without nose, mouth of eyes. This is all very despicable and ugly.

All such claims as are in the Koran need to be examined in the Light of the Word of God, the Bible.  We must therefore compare the claims of the Koran to the teachings of the Bible.

The first and foremost teaching to be compared in the analysis of a work such as the Koran, is what that work teaches about Jesus Christ.  This is the Archimedean point, as it were, in the comparison of religions to Christianity, for Christianity alone teaches and professes Jesus Christ as Savior of the world and emphatically asserts that Christianity alone is the Way and the Life and the Truth.  Any religion which rejects this Truth, cannot be reconciled to Christianity.

The Koran rejects Christ as the Son of God and the Savior of the world.  Therefore, one of these religions is right and one is wrong.  It is up to the reader to decide, but here are excerpts from the Koran, and a comparison to what the Bible teaches:

Surat 1:7:  The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (such as the Jews), nor of those who went astray (such as the Christians).

Comment:  Here the Koran claims that it is the Way for those who follow it and is not the way for Jews (who have earned Allah's anger) or those who went astray, (Christians).  The Bible, on the other hand, teaches that the Jews were the chosen people by God to introduce the True Religion to the World, and that Christians received what the Jews rejected: Jesus Christ and the New Testament.

Surat 2:25:  And give glad tidings to those who believe and do righteous good deeds, that for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise).  Every time they will be provided with a fruit there from, they will say: "This is what we were provided with before," and they will be given things in resemblance (i.e. in the same form but different in taste) and they shall have therein purified mates or wives, having no menses stools urine, etc. and the will abide therein forever.

Comment:  The Bible teaches that the elect in Heaven will no longer have mates: "And Jesus said to them, 'The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage; but those who are accounted worth to attain to that age and to the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage, for they cannot die any more, because they are equal to angels and are sons of god, being sons of the resurrection.'"  (Luke 20:34-36)

Surat 2:190:  And fight in the Way of Allah those who fight you, but transgress not the limits. Truly, Allah likes not transgressors.

And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out.  And Al-Fitnah (unbelief) is worse than killing.  And fight not with them at the sanctuary of Makkah, unless they (first) fight you there.  But if they attack you, then kill them.  Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.

Comment:  Self defense is really not defined in the Koran.  Who is attacking them and the people that Koran is speaking to is not defined.

At any rate, Christianity teaches something totally different, as was quoted above: "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you."  Christianity is the religion of Peace, Islam, is the religion of violence.

Surat 2:216:  Jihad (holy fighting in Allah's Cause) is ordained for you (Muslims) though you dislike it, and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you.  Allah knows but you do not know.

Comment:  Throughout the Koran, Jihad, fighting against unbelievers, is an integral part of the teaching.  On the other hand, Christianity is a completely non-violent religion, as far as the religion itself is concerned:  "But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 5:44-45)

Surat 5:55:  And remember when Allah said: 'O Jesus'! I will take you and raise you to Myself and clear you of the forged statement that Jesus is Allah's son of those who disbelieve, and I will make those who follow you (Monotheists, who worship none but Allah) superior to those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah, or disbelieve in some of His Messengers, e.g. Muhammad, Jesus, Moses, etc or in His Holy Books, e.g. the Torah, the Gospel, the Koran till the Day of Resurrection.)  Then you will return to Me and I will judge between you in the matters in which you used to dispute."

Comment:  This is a very confusing passage, but essentially it is a passage in which Allah addresses Christ and says that Allah will "clear" Christ of the "forged" statements that Christ is the Son of Allah (God).  This is truly an amazing and Satanic passage.  In this passage, it is clearly asserted that Christ's own claims to be the Son of God, and the claims of the rest of Scripture to this effect are false.  This is a perfect example of the "sin against the Holy Spirit."

The "sin against the Holy Spirit" is to knowingly and persistently teach against the teachings of God's Word.  It is described by Christ:  "Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter; but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin."  (Mark 3:28-29)  "And every one who speaks a word against the Son of man will be forgiven; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven." (Luke 12:10)  To blaspheme against the Holy Spirit is to knowingly and persistently teach against what the Holy Spirit (or the Word of God) teaches.  To understand this sin it is important to understand that in Scripture, Holy Spirit is pretty much synonymous with the Word of God.  Perhaps, in some other place we will have a deeper study of the "sin against the Holy Spirit."  (Suffice it to say here, however, that whoever is concerned that he or she may have committed this sin, can take comfort that they have not).

Surat 3:59-61:  Verily, the likeness of Jesus before Allah is the likeness of Adam.  He created him from dust, then He said to him: "Be!' and he was.

This is the truth from your Lord, so be not of those who doubt.

Then whoever disputes with you concerning Jesus after all this knowledge that has come to you, Jesus being a slave of Allah, and having no share in Divinity say: 'Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves - then we pray and invoke sincerely, the Curse of Allah upon those who lie."

Comment:  In order to test the truth of any religion, it is always important first and foremost to find out the position of that religion concerning Jesus Christ.  This, as has been stated above, will always reveal a true or false religion, because only someone who has been given the Holy Spirit can confess that Christ is the Son of God.

In these passages of the Koran, we can clearly see its teachings with respect to Christ.  First of all, it says that Jesus is the "likeness of Adam."  What the Koran really means by this can only be speculated, but it seems to say that Jesus is really Adam.  As with almost any passage in the Koran, there are numerous contradictions and obscure meanings.  (As Luther once said, Satan cannot speak one syllable without contradicting himself).

Then, the Koran clearly teaches: "Jesus being a slave of Allah, and having no share in Divinity..."  Here there can be no clearer statement that the Koran emphatically rejects Jesus Christ as the Son of God.

Surat 3:95: Say: 'Allah has spoken the truth; follow the religion of Abraham, Monotheism.'

Comment: The Koran always claims that Abraham was the founder of Islam, by teaching Monotheism.  This is one of the primary disputes that the Koran has with Christianity, and throughout the Koran, how it tries to separate itself with Christianity.  It is very interesting, in my opinion, to note how often that Allah in the Koran refers to himself in the first person plural, we, indicating more than one.  It is an interesting contradiction.  The Koran attempts to play on the idea that since Christianity teaches that God is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, that Christianity is teaching a polytheistic religion.  Christianity does not not teach polytheism, but emphatically teaches that God is One, but He has three distinct natures, or Persons.  How this happens, is a miracle to human reason, and hopefully we can examine it further in a future Bible study.

Surat 4:11:  Allah commands you as regards your children's inheritance; to the male, a portion equal to that of two females...

Comment: Surat 4:11 continues with a very complicated explanation concerning the distribution of an inheritance.  But here, it must be asked, why does Allah command that every male receive twice as much as every female?  There is really no reason for this in either the Old or the New Testaments.  It is just simply the sign of a male interested and dominated society.

Surat 4:15:  And those of your women who commit illegal sexual intercourse, take the evidence of four witnesses from amongst you against them, and if they testify, condemn them to houses until death come to them....

Comment:  This is an incredibly harsh punishment for "illegal sexual intercourse."  First of all, "illegal sexual intercourse" has not been defined in the Koran.  In the Civic Law of the Old Testament, there was a punishment for Adultery upon conviction, because God ruled in the Israelites by civic as well as Religious Laws.  These laws concerning adultery do not extend to Christians (please see, Introduction to the Bible on this web site.)  In Christianity, Christ set an example for the Holy Christian Church.  When Jesus was presented with the woman who committed adultery, He, Almighty God, forgave her.  This is the Essence of Christianity: Forgiveness in whatever we have done or have ever been in our lives, and Complete Acceptance into God's Eternal Mercy and Forgiveness, for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.  Whenever we go to God, whether it be to a Priest in the Roman Catholic Church, or whether it be in our prayers alone, when we ask for forgiveness in Jesus Christ, we have the full Measure of God's Love in Jesus Christ to be given to us.  Whoever is bashful, whoever is ashamed, let him come to this great Fountain of Love, Mercy and Forgiveness, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Surat 4:34:  Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has made one of them to excel the other, and because they spend from their means....As to those women on whose part you see ill conduct, admonish them first, next refuse to share their bed, and last beat them (lightly, if it is useful).

Comment:  One of the things that the Koran often does, is to couch many of its assertions with qualifications, allowing for different interpretations.  In the above passage, the Koran is essentially saying, that if women do not behave according to what men want, then it is permissible to "beat them."  But it hedges this command, by saying: lightly, if it is useful.  My question is: How do you beat someone, "lightly?"  I don't think that it is possible.

Surat 4:47:  O you who have been given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) --(It is very interesting to note that here, the Koran at the same time that it claims to be the Word of God, it asserts that the Scriptures were given to Jews and Christians -- which of course is true)  Believe in what We have revealed to Muhammad confirming what is already with you, before We efface faces by making them like the back of necks; without nose, mouth, eyes etc. and turn them hind wards, or curse them as We cursed the Sabbath-breakers.  And the Commandment of Allah is always executed.

Comment:  Here the Koran states that Allah, if you disagree with him: "effaces faces by making them like the back of necks; without nose, mouth, eyes etc."  I have blasphemed Allah many many times, and never once was my face turned into a "neck, without nose, mouth eyes, etc." It is just all pathetic and ridiculous.

Surat 4:84:  Then fight in the Cause of Allah, you are not held responsible except for yourself, and incite the believers to fight along with you, it may be that Allah will restrain the evil of disbelievers.  And Allah is Stronger in Might and Stronger in punishing.

Comment:  Here once again, unfortunately, the Koran asks followers to "fight," indicating once again that Islam is violent religion.  There can be no doubt of this.  But we will go on.

Surat 4:95:  Not equal are those of the believers who sit at home, except those who are disabled by injury or are blind or lame, etc. and those who strive hard and fight with their wealth and their live above those who sit at home.  Unto each, Allah has promised good Paradise, but Allah has preferred those who strive hard and fight above those who sit at home by a huge reward.

Comment:  Once again, the nature of belligerence and intolerance is shown in the Koran.  Here, Allah promises "good Paradise" to his believers, but prefers those who "fight."  Fighting against unbelievers, or "Jihad," is really the key to this religion.  It is all about fighting against "unbelievers," from beginning to end.  But we will go on.

Surat 4:101:  And when you (Muslims) travel in the land, there is no sin on you if you shorten your Salat (prayer) if you fear that the disbelievers may attack you, verily, the disbelievers are ever unto you open enemies.

Comment:  Same as above, the Koran declares that "disbelievers" are "open enemies," whereas the Bible teaches to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

Surat 4:156: And because of the Jews' disbelief and uttering against Mary a grave false charge that she has committed illegal sexual intercourse.

Comment:  Here the Koran does not understand that the Jews do not believe in the Immaculate Conception.  It is Christians who believe this.  But this is just an extremely interesting passage in which the Koran implies that the Immaculate Conception of Mary was "illegal sexual intercourse."

Surat 4:157-158:  And because of their saying in boast, 'We killed Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary the Messenger of Allah, but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but the resemblance of Jesus was put over another man and they killed that man, and those who differ therein are full of doubts.  They have no certain knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture.  For surely, they killed him not.

But Allah raised him (Jesus) up with his body and soul unto Himself and he is in the heavens.  And Allah is Ever All Powerful.  All Wise.

Comment:  Allah is the invention of a very imaginative mind, inspired by Satan.  Here, Allah declares that Christ did not die, but that someone else died in His stead, and that Allah raised Christ, body and soul, without death.  The Bible teaches that Christ was crucified, died and was buried, and this was the Atonement for Sin.  Without this Sacrifice, there is no forgiveness from God.  This Teaching is what Satan always fights against.  Once again this indicates the Satanic nature of the teaching of the Koran, to teach contrary to the Messiah, the birth, life, death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Surat 4:159:  And there is none of the people of the Scripture, Jews and Christians, but must believe in him Jesus, son of Mary as only a messenger of Allah and a human being before his death (at the time of the appearance of the angel of death.).  And on the Day of Resurrection, Jesus will be a witness against them.

Comment:  Once again, the language of the Koran is totally convoluted, just as it is with anyone who is telling a lie and knows it:.  Let me try to translate this into something that makes sense:  The people of the Scripture, Jews and Christians, must believe that Jesus, son of Mary, is only a messenger of Allah and only a human being.  If not, at the time of that person's death, on the Day of Resurrection, Jesus will himself be a witness against him.

This passage is almost beyond belief.  It is Satanic, through and through.  In this passage, the Koran is claiming that Jews and Christians must believe that Jesus was only a mere human being, or they will not be saved, and that Jesus Christ will even witness to this.  I have never in my entire life read a more evil or Satanic passage.  Now I know why the Koran often invokes the mercy of God for Mohammad.  Mohammad needs it desperately, but I think he is beyond help.

The Bible, the Word of God, teaches that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Son of God who died on the Cross and was Resurrected and by this Atonement He made satisfaction for the Sins of all Mankind.  There can be no greater contradiction in my opinion between what the Koran teaches and what the Bible teaches.  They are unalterably and Eternally opposed to each other.

Surat 4:171: O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)!  Do not exceed the limits in your religion, nor say of Allah aught but the truthThe Messiah Jesus, son of Mary was no more than a Messenger of Allah and His Word, ("Be!" and he was) which He bestowed on Mary and a spirit created by Him so believe in Allah and His Messengers.  Say not: "Three (trinity)" Cease! it is better for you.  For Allah is the only One God, Glory be to Him (Far Exalted is He) above having a son.  To Him belongs all this is in the heavens and all that is in the earth.  And Allah is AllSufficient as a Disposer of affairs.

Comment:  Here, once again, it is the position of the Koran, that Jesus was simply a messenger of Allah, and that Allah is "above having a son."  Once again, a truly Satanic passage which attempts to convince the followers of Islam to believe that God is "above having a son."  It is really fascinating to see how Allah tries to tell the "People of the Scripture" what God can and cannot do.  God is omnipotent and can do whatever in Heaven and in Earth that He pleases.  If it pleases God to have a Son, then God, being Almighty can certainly do this.  And so it pleased God to have a Son, Jesus Christ born of the Virgin Mary in Bethlehem, according to Holy Scripture.  But to the uninformed and the naive, God would, according to human reason, be too great to have a Son.  This is always how Satan  tries to misdirect people from the true Christian faith, by appealing to human wisdom and pride.  This is what Satan did in the Garden of Eden when he deceived Eve into believing that God really would want her to be "wise" and thus he convinced her to disobey the Word of God which strictly forbade her from eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

Surat 4:172:  The Messiah will never be proud to reject to be a slave to Allah, nor the angels who are near to Allah.  And whosoever rejects His worship and is proud, then He will gather them all together unto Himself.

Comment:  Here, once again are truly Satanic passages.  Here the Koran states that "the Messiah will never be proud to reject to be a slave to Allah, nor the angels who are near to Allah."  This is just very fascinating.  In this passage the Koran claims that the Messiah (Jesus) would never be so "proud as to reject to be a slave to Allah nor the angels who are near to Allah."  Here, the Koran attempts to put Christ Himself, the Son of God, under the control of the crazy Allah, inspired by Satan.  It is just about the most pathetic and ridiculous thing I have ever read.

Surat 3:140:   If a wound (and killing) has touch you, be sure a similar wound (an killing) has touched the others.  And so are the days (good and not so good).  We give to men by turns, that Allah may test those who believe, and that He may take martyrs from among you.  And Allah likes not the polytheists and wrongdoers.

Comment:  Once again, this displays a religion bent on violence and vengeance.  It is true that in the Old Testament, the Civic Law applied:  "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth."  However, this is the Civic Law that applied to the Jewish people. However, this was not a part of the Spiritual Law that was in the Old Testament and in the New Testament: "Overcome evil with good, and love your neighbor as yourself."  This is the essence of Christianity, and punishment belongs to the Civic authorities, not the Church (except for excommunication).

Surat 3: 157:  And if you are killed or die in the Way of Allah, forgiveness and mercy from Allah are far better than all that they amass of worldly wealth, etc.

Comment:  Once again an incitement, or encouragement for evil in that the Koran promises great rewards for those who die in Allah (Satan's) cause.  (This is why the Koran is such a Satanic book -- the most Satanic book, I have ever read.)

Surat 5: 14:  And from those who call themselves Christians, We took their covenant, but they have abandoned a good part of the Message that was sent to them.  So We planted amongst them enmity and hatred till the Day of Resurrection ( when they discarded Allah's Book, disobeyed Allah's  Messengers and His Orders and transgressed beyond bounds in Allah's disobedience, and Allah will inform them of what they used to do.

Comment:  Once again, a totally confused passage from Allah.  I will try to represent what "Allah" is trying to say.  Allah, supposedly, took the New Testament from Christians, but nevertheless, Christians have abandoned a "good part of the Message."  How this can be so, I don't know.  So, Allah planted amongst Christians, "enmity and hatred until the Day of Resurrection."  Why Allah decided to do this is anyone's guess.  Everything gets so confused in passages like this, that it is a waste of time to try to explain them.  I have better things to do.

I don't know if I should go on in this analysis of the Koran.  I will summarize it as follows:  It is an Anti-Christian, Anti-Jewish diatribe, full of references to Jihad (holy war) against Christians and Jews, because of their "Unbelief."  It is full of hatred, and full of Satanic feelings and beliefs.  Whoever dies in this religion, may God have mercy, because they will go to Hell.  There is almost nothing redeeming or beneficial in this faith, as I see it.
